NOTHING HAS CHANGED

Larry Niehues
New York | 2021

In this solo show by French photographer Larry Niehues at Etiquette space in Williamsburg, BK Ianniello selected an assortment of photos that traverses local lines and characters throughout his American excursion shot on 35MM film.

Visiting each of the fifty states throughout the span of the most recent six years, Niehues zeros in his focal point on those real minutes with the possibility to lift the commonplace to the mythic. Sympathetic and fair, Mr Niehues strolls the fragile line among photorealism and public dream, exhibiting an untouchable's talent for catching the fiction of what America was in the truth of what America is.

The Opening night brought notable guests, including Mick Rock, Brad Elterman, Dion Lunadon, and Ian Mellencamp. The exhibition also included signed copies of “Nothing Has Changed,” book by publishing company Lanoo. Partners included Illegal Mezcal, Gnome Wellness, and Bailey of Hollywood.
