MIND-BODY DUALISM

Ruvan Wijesooriya
New York | 2023

In June 2023, Montauk Beach House was illuminated with the ethereal works of Ruvan Wijesooriya's "Mind Body Dualism," curated by Nicole Ianniello. Over this memorable weekend, attendees were transported into Wijesooriya's world, where the ordinary unveiled its extraordinary essence: reflections morphed into gateways and waves echoed the vastness of galaxies.

Inspired by legendary artists like Lucio Fontana and Josef Albers, and shot in the mesmerizing locales of Oaxaca and Holbox, Mexico, this collection showcased Wijesooriya's first venture into digital abstraction.  Ianniello described the exhibition as a "visual feast" that spotlighted the fleeting yet timeless wonders of humanity and nature.

In the spirit of giving, a fraction of the sales benefited A Walk on Water (AWOW), supporting their mission to provide therapeutic surf sessions to children with unique needs. This event was more than an exhibition; it was a celebration of art, compassion, and the beauty of the human experience.
