Ruvan Wijesooriya

During Art Basel in Miami Beach, we offered an exclusive hour-long VR and Q&A session for 1 Hotel community members. The highlight was a four-minute VR journey through stunning abstract images, evoking deep emotional and physiological responses like relaxation and spiritual awakening.

Accompanied by Gabriel Andruzzi's tranquil soundtrack, the VR experience included a projection of Ruvan Wijesooriya's "Light Has Memory," exploring humanity's desire to transcend physical limitations. Guests enjoyed cocktails and signed books of Wijesooriya's "Yucatan: Explore the Expansion of Space," making it a memorable blend of immersive art, technology, and community connection.

RICHARD VERGEZ

For members of 1 Hotel, we hosted an exclusive evening with Cuban-American artist Richard Vergez, renowned for his unique hand-made collages that blend human forms with vintage machinery to create surrealistic landscapes. Drawing from his graphic design background, Vergez explores the intricate interactions between humans and technology.

At twenty-eight, Vergez broke into the art scene in Brooklyn, gaining influence in major cities like London, Chicago, and Miami. His works have been featured in The New York Times and The Guardian and are a staple in exhibitions worldwide.

During this event, Richard Vergez shared his artistic journey and creative process and led a hands-on collage workshop. Participants created their own surreal and abstract art pieces under his guidance, which were later showcased in a mini-exhibition. The evening concluded with stimulating discussions about art, a closing cocktail toast, and exclusive tips from Vergez on nurturing artistic skills and creativity.

This immersive experience deepened our members' appreciation for contemporary collage art and provided valuable insights into the evolving art landscape.

Magnus Resch

For members of 1 Hotel, we hosted an exclusive event featuring Magnus Resch, renowned art market economist, serial entrepreneur, and best-selling author. Magnus co-ran an art gallery in Switzerland at twenty-two and later launched ventures addressing art market inefficiencies. Holding a Ph.D. in economics, he lectures at Yale on art economics and has authored eight books, including "How to Become a Successful Artist" and "How to Create and Sell NFTs."

During this members-only event, Magnus delved into art market fundamentals, investment strategies, and the transformative potential of NFTs, Blockchain, and the metaverse. Attendees received signed copies of his latest book and additional resources such as recommended Twitter accounts, podcasts, and newsletters for staying updated.

She discussed FELDER FELDER’s innovative use of biomaterials such as mango fruit leather and sargassum, highlighting the challenges in sourcing these materials. Annette showcased her favorite Ecouture designs, balancing style and sustainability, and introduced the Future Fashion Concepts Initiative to promote sustainable practices among emerging designers.
